After extensive travels to Asia and gorging herself with pastries and desserts from different lands, founder Mouna Boulaabi returned to Qatar with post-travel depression. Emptiness and sadness filled her life and the memories of the fresh aromas of Japanese bakeries, Taiwanese cake shops and Korean pastry shops brought temporary flashes of glee and euphoria, then she had determined to fill this void in her life and the country she settle in terms of Asian baked industry, Mouna set out to make a change for the better and had evaluated the market of the state of Qatar then came up with a brilliant plan of recreating her experience overseas and the idea of DEKITATE was born shortly after.

Committing to Conventions

Mona recruited qualified team to capture fun with desserts. With talented team on board, they set out on a pilgrimage to local farms and search for qualified local suppliers as she knew the secret to other-worldly flavor was to keep things simple, pure, and local: fresh ingredients, cage-free, eggs, grass-fed dairy, with zero preservatives.

She had a vision, a plan, and all she needed was a location. Dekitate Japanese Bakery was born in 03 Mall, New Salata - Doha state of Qatar. It's where she came of age and it's where she knew Dekitate would thrive. And thrive it did. So much so, she was able to open her second location in City centre Mall – West BAY, celebrating another neighborhood for inspiring us everyday.
